Andy T
Band
Biography “Andy
T” Talamantez has been dedicated to
playing the blues since
he was a teenager living in Southern California. He cites his early
influences as
Cream (with Eric Clapton), early Fleetwood Mack (with Peter Green),
Rory
Gallagher, and Johnny Winter. Andy soon noticed that many of these
players
cited common influences, and began researching the roots of the blues.
Beginning with T-Bone Walker, the first electric bluesman, he began
listening
to the music of BB King, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter,
Elmore James,
Magic Sam, Otis Rush, and
many others. Andy’s
guitar
style is
fluid and unique. As well as the
above mentioned artists, he lists the styles of Jimmie Vaughn and Anson
Funderburgh as guiding him to create his own voice on the guitar. “I
have varied musical influences, and instead of trying to mimic those
individual styles, I
realized that it's important to develop your own style, while still
paying homage
to the guitar greats”. Andy
T
has
been
honored
with
the the opportunity of touring internationally with blues legends
Smokey
Wilson and Guitar Shorty. He
has also
performed on stage with Philip
Walker, Charlie Musselwhite, Lonnie Brooks, Marcy Levy, Finis Tasby,
King
Earnest, Kid Ramos and many others. He has been a
featured
guest on stage with William Clarke, Anson
Funderburgh and Sam Myers, Arthur Adams, Roy Gaines, Rod Piazza,
and
others. Add
to
that
the
many shows and tours with his own bands, and it’s apparent he has
attended the
“University of the Blues”. |
